Dear Parishioners,

I am pleased to announce that we are adding 7th- 11th grade Religious Education classes to Mary Immaculate this year. These classes will be in addition to the current Wednesday night Religious Education program.

More information will be available soon, along with registration for class this fall. If you are in this grade range and would like to have more information please contact Mari Jo at 218-885-1126.

God Bless!

Mari Jo

Confirmation is a free gift of God through the power of the Holy Spirit that strengthens us to live a fully Catholic life. If you are in 10th or 11th grade these are the years when you more intensely begin to prepare your soul to receive this great gift.

Here's a checklist to help 10th and 11th Graders prepare for Confirmation:

___Attend a Confirmation Retreat in 10th or 11th grade (no exceptions):

___Go to Mass Every Sunday

___You MUST have a 75% attendance record at Wednesday night faith formation to be Confirmed. It is essential to have a good understanding of our faith when you make the choice to be confirmed. Your discipleship leaders will take attendance. Please contact Mari Jo if you have to miss a Wednesday night class.

Upcoming Deadlines for 11th Grade Confirmandi:

___Due Wed, December 12 :

  1.  Church and Date of Baptism (so that St. Cecilia's can request a certificate from that church)
  2.  Confirmation Sponsor Name and Relationship to Confirmand (must be a practicing Catholic (i.e. attends Mass every Sunday, cannot be the confirmand's parent)
  3.  Proof of Sponsor’s Confirmation (ask for Church where your sponsor was confirmed)

___Due Wed, April 3: Contact Fr. Joe to setup a Confirmation Interview (may be done anytime during the year, the sooner the better)

*Should benefit the church, community, etc to help you put your faith into action.

*Ask the supervisor to sign a paper stating what you did and for how long, then give it to Mari Jo.

___Due Wed, April 17: Name of Patron Saint

___Get excited! Confirmation is a powerful Sacrament!

Mandatory Confirmation Rehearsal & Confessions: TBD

It is important to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation Soon before Confirmation (Your soul must be in a state of grace (i.e. no mortal sins on your conscience) in order for the graces of the Sacrament of Confirmation to be fruitful).

Come, Holy Spirit!
